In just one month, SotaTek successfully deployed the Sotabox.ai system on GreenNode, helping optimize DevOps costs and shorten time to market for international customers.
Challenge
As SotaTek expanded its service scale and strengthened its operational capabilities, the company faced an urgent need to deploy its DevOps platform, Sotabox, on the cloud quickly, reliably, and cost-effectively.
In early 2025, SotaTek began looking for a local cloud provider with strong technical capabilities, reliable infrastructure, and the ability to work closely with its in-house engineering team throughout deployment.
The main requirements included:
- Fast deployment timeline: The full system needed to be up and running stably within one month, without disrupting product launch plans for end users.
- Infrastructure expectations: A flexible and efficient infrastructure platform was needed to support both operations and product development.
- PaaS-first preference: SotaTek wanted to use Platform-as-a-Service offerings to shorten development time and reduce the workload on its DevOps team.
- Technical support requirements: The company needed continuous, in-depth, and responsive technical support from the provider to ensure a smooth and effective handover and initial operation phase.
Solution
After selecting GreenNode (formerly VNG Cloud) as its infrastructure partner, SotaTek worked closely with the GreenNode team to deploy the Sotabox.ai system within one month, from February 15 to March 15, 2025.
The full deployment was divided into three clear phases to ensure progress, stability, and long-term scalability.
Phase 1: Deploying the Sotabox system
This critical first phase focused on setting up the cloud infrastructure and configuring core services, including vServer, vStorage, vLB, vDB (Redis and PostgreSQL), and Kafka, to bring the Sotabox platform into operation on GreenNode.
During this phase, GreenNode provided continuous technical support to ensure a smooth setup, integration, and testing process, especially for specialized PaaS services such as vMonitor and VKS.
Phase 2: Rolling out to Sotabox end users
Once the core system was stable, SotaTek began extending features to end users. The cloud infrastructure had to meet performance, security, and scalability requirements to ensure that businesses using Sotabox could operate smoothly without interruption.
Phase 3: Testing Dataiku on GreenNode
Beyond deploying Sotabox, SotaTek continued working with GreenNode to test the integration of the AI and machine learning analytics platform Dataiku on the existing infrastructure.
The two sides are also collaborating on an LLM interface and a broader AI Stack ecosystem, with the goal of helping Vietnamese businesses access internal AI deployment solutions more easily and at an optimized cost.
This marked an important expansion step for large-scale data analytics projects and demonstrated the flexibility of the GreenNode platform in scaling and integrating a wide range of technologies.
Result
After one month of completing the Sotabox deployment, from infrastructure setup and core service configuration to expansion testing for end users on GreenNode, a number of positive results were recorded:
- Significantly shorter deployment time: With close support from the GreenNode team, system go-live time was optimized, allowing SotaTek to begin delivering services to customers in just 30 days.
- Lower DevOps costs: By using PaaS services such as vDB, Kafka, and vMonitor, SotaTek significantly reduced operational and DevOps staffing costs while accelerating product development and deployment.
- Stable operations and end-user readiness: The infrastructure was designed to meet high standards of stability, security, and performance, ensuring that Sotabox could serve customers smoothly and without interruption.
- 24/7 technical support from GreenNode experts: Throughout deployment and operation, SotaTek received continuous technical guidance, ensuring that any issues were handled quickly and effectively.
- Ready to scale for future AI and Big Data projects: With flexible infrastructure and strong integration capabilities, the current system can be extended to support future needs in data analytics and AI model deployment.
The success of this project not only helped SotaTek optimize operations but also laid a strong foundation for expanding its technology ecosystem on GreenNode.
Future plans
SotaTek will continue working with GreenNode to upgrade Sotabox.ai into a more comprehensive platform that supports a wider range of AI models and broader use cases across industries such as e-commerce, finance, and education.
