In December 2025, VNG Cloud officially merged into GreenNode — marking the biggest turning point in Vietnam's cloud computing history. Whether you're a current VNG Cloud customer or simply want to understand what this change means for your business, this article answers every question you need to know.
What Is GreenNode? Why Did VNG Cloud Merge With GreenNode?
First things first: GreenNode is not a brand-new name. GreenNode was already a separate business unit within VNG, specializing in AI Cloud infrastructure — with high-performance GPUs and a strategic partnership with NVIDIA as its core strengths. VNG Cloud, meanwhile, focused on conventional cloud computing, serving over 1,000 enterprise customers across Vietnam.
In December 2025, both units officially merged under a single brand: GreenNode.
The reasoning is straightforward. VNG CEO Kelly Wong made clear that AI and traditional cloud computing are no longer two separate businesses — they are components of a single infrastructure stack. The consolidation allows VNG to build a stronger, more competitive platform ready to meet the rapidly growing demand for AI cloud services across Southeast Asia.
The result: GreenNode becomes one of the few platforms in Vietnam offering both conventional cloud and high-performance AI Cloud within a single, unified ecosystem.
Will VNG Cloud Services Be Disrupted?
No. This is the most important thing current customers need to know.
All VNG Cloud products and services continue to operate normally after the merger. You don't need to change anything right now — your existing accounts, contracts, and payment channels remain completely unaffected.
If any technical changes arise in the future — such as updates to the login portal or payment gateway — GreenNode commits to notifying customers at least 30 days in advance, with clear step-by-step guidance to ensure a smooth transition.
Is the vngcloud.vn Website Still Active?
Yes. The VNG Cloud website and console remain active. Current VNG Cloud customers can continue to log in and use the console as normal via vngcloud.vn. GreenNode customers continue accessing the platform via greennode.ai.
There will be no sudden changes to either portal. Any updates to domains or access points will always be communicated in advance.
What's Actually Different About GreenNode After the Merger?
This is the most interesting question. Post-merger GreenNode is not simply "VNG Cloud with a new name" — it's a platform completely restructured around two strategic pillars:
Pillar 1 — Cloud Infrastructure: The full suite of VNG Cloud products, including compute, storage, networking, and databases for mission-critical workloads. This is the infrastructure that has powered over 1,000 enterprises, operated through data centers in Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi.
Pillar 2 — AI Stack: High-performance GPUs (including thousands of NVIDIA H100 chips), a machine learning platform, model training and fine-tuning, and serverless inference. GreenNode is a preferred NVIDIA Cloud Partner (NCP) — one of the few in the region to hold this status.
The biggest advantage of the new model: businesses can train, fine-tune, and deploy AI models on the same infrastructure, eliminating dependence on multiple separate vendors.
Where Has GreenNode Built Its AI Infrastructure?
In June 2024, ahead of the official merger, GreenNode launched a large-scale AI Data Center cluster in Bangkok, Thailand — one of Southeast Asia's first AI-ready hyperscale facilities. The cluster runs on a dedicated 20MW capacity, equipped with an InfiniBand network offering up to 3.2Tbps bandwidth, and holds LEED Gold, TIA-942 Rating-3 DCDV, and Uptime Tier III certifications.
In Vietnam, GreenNode's AI Cloud infrastructure runs on the STT VNG Ho Chi Minh City 1 data center — Uptime Tier III certified, with 9.6 MW IT capacity, 1,600 racks, and ISO 27001/27017/27018 and PCI-DSS accreditations. With carrier-neutral connectivity to major telcos and hyperscalers, GreenNode delivers low-latency, highly reliable AI Cloud services that meet the demanding workloads of banking, fintech, gaming, and large enterprises.
Beyond infrastructure, GreenNode has developed GreenMind — an open-source large language model (LLM) built for Vietnamese. GreenMind was integrated into NVIDIA's global NIM platform in September 2025, affirming that "Made in Vietnam" AI is capable of competing in the international ecosystem.
Where Should New Customers Start?
If you're looking for cloud or AI solutions for your business, GreenNode recommends exploring the latest unified platform at greennode.ai. The website has been redesigned to showcase a full suite of 30+ products and services, alongside technical documentation, in-depth blogs, and 24/7 support.
New customers who want specific VNG Cloud services can still sign up as normal until an official announcement on the full transition roadmap is released.
Why Is This Good News for Vietnamese Businesses?
The consolidation delivers at least three practical benefits:
First, a single point of contact for all digital infrastructure needs — from conventional servers to AI GPUs — helping businesses optimize costs and operations instead of juggling multiple vendors.
Second, data residency compliance. GreenNode is built to meet local data residency requirements, which is especially critical for Vietnamese businesses with legal obligations to keep data in-country while expanding regionally.
Third, sovereign AI. With GreenMind and GPU infrastructure based in Southeast Asia, GreenNode is building home-grown AI capabilities — reducing Vietnamese businesses' reliance on models and infrastructure from the US or China.
In Short: What’s Actually Different After the Merger?
From a customer’s perspective, GreenNode today is not just “VNG Cloud with a new logo”, but a strategic shift from a traditional cloud provider into an AI‑first platform, clearly positioned as a high‑performance sovereign AI Cloud for digital businesses in Vietnam and across the region.
In terms of the services you are already using, familiar cloud components like virtual machines, storage, networking and CDN continue to run as usual; you are not forced to migrate your infrastructure or redesign your systems overnight.
Strategically and architecturally, the real change is the unification of VNG Cloud’s traditional cloud capabilities with GreenNode’s AI/GPU infrastructure into a single platform. This allows enterprises to train, fine‑tune, deploy and operate AI applications on the same stack, which is the foundation for its positioning as a “high‑performance AI Cloud”: handling heavy AI workloads and production systems at the same time on infrastructure optimized for GPU and high‑performance compute.
From a product‑positioning angle, VNG Cloud used to be seen primarily as “a cloud provider for web/app infrastructure”, while GreenNode after the merger is told as a “high‑performance sovereign AI Cloud platform end‑to‑end for digital enterprises”:
- “High‑performance” because it focuses on GPU resources, AI compute and large AI workloads.
- “Sovereign” because it operates multi‑region infrastructure inside Vietnam, supporting data storage and processing within the country when required, while still expanding AI Cloud capacity to regional locations.
The Bottom Line: What You Need to Remember
- VNG Cloud officially became part of GreenNode in December 2025.
- All existing services continue without interruption — no action required right now.
- Support channels transition from VNG Cloud to GreenNode on July 1, 2026.
- The new GreenNode is a unified AI cloud platform built on two pillars: Cloud Infrastructure and AI Stack.
- New customers should start at greennode.ai.
This is more than a name change. It's a clear signal that VNG — Vietnam's first tech unicorn — is making a major bet on the region's AI cloud future, with GreenNode as its competitive weapon on the Southeast Asian stage.
